People threatened to boycott her film and slammed her for standing with the ‘tukde tukde’ gang. Deepika’s JNU visit not only affected her film but is also affecting her brand endorsement. In the times, when the majority of A-list Bollywood actors remained mum on the violent attacks in JNU, Deepika put up a brave front and went against all odds.

Right from Richa Chadda, Swara Bhasker to Anurag Kashyap and Gauahar Khan, many Bollywood celebrities lauded DP for her brave move. At the same, the actress had to be on the receiving end of criticism. Amidst this, Kangana Ranaut was asked about Deepika Padukone’s JNU visit and the Panga actress put forth her strong opinion.

In an interview with Spotboye, Kangana Ranaut said that Deepika Padukone knows what she is doing and standing for. “I think, she is exercising her democratic right and she knows what she is doing. I shouldn’t be having an opinion on what she is doing. It is not appropriate for me to say that she should have done this or that. I can say what I want to do. I definitely do not want to stand with ‘tukde tukde’ gang. I don’t want to support anyone who wants to divide this nation. I don’t want to empower those who do not have the country’s welfare in their mind. I don’t want to comment on what she should have done,” she said.
